About Dr. Uribe

I would like to introduce myself, Leon Camilo Uribe, MD.

My comprehensive, multidisciplinary and natural approach to medicine is what will benefit you as my patient in the long run.

My goal is to get you as healthy as possible with the minimal amount of medicines possible, I will always aim to stop your current medications through nutrition and physical activity to prevent the occurrence of side effects.

I do not start patients on narcotics or benzodiazepines to avoid the highly addictive side effects of these medicines.

I do not diagnose patients with ADD or ADHD.

My approach is to live a long and healthy life using a combination of ancient techniques with modern medical research and biotechnology.

I started my Family Medicine Residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and completed it at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville New Jersey. I completed my fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

I am Board Certified in Family Medicine. I served as the primary team physician for Holmes High School in San Antonio; I provided game coverage for Trinity University (DIII Football) and assisted the Team Physicians in several games for professional teams, including The San Antonio Spurs (NBA), The Silver Stars (WNBA) and The Rampage (AHL). As a bonus, I was part of the medical team taking care of the Saints (NFL) after Hurricane Katrina when they moved to San Antonio for that season (2005/2006).

In 2007, I received an academic appointment as Assistant Professor from Drexel University College of Medicine (Department of Family Medicine) and from Hahnemann University Hospital (Department of Orthopedics) in Philadelphia, PA. I am proud to say that I was key to get the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program for Drexel, up and running. As a member of the faculty and the University Athletics Sports Medicine Team, I took care of sports medicine injuries, taught residents and medical students and provided game coverage for Drexel as Assistant Team Physician.

I have lectured in several grand round presentations and presented two lectures in Sports Medicine at the 1st Iberoamerican WONCA (World Organization of Family Medicine) Conference in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in October of 2006.

I’ve been in South Florida since 2008 serving the Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Broward County communities.

I’m a two time Ironman and four time Ironman 70.3 finisher, so I know a couple of things about discipline, fitness and commitment.

With more than 25 years of experience and more than eighty thousand (80k) patient visits, you can rely on having a dependable doctor and friend that hopefully you will get to know, like and trust!

My objective is to create a long lasting relationship with the only goal of helping you to get as healthy as possible!

I believe that life should be fun and the best way to enjoy it is to be healthy, productive and at peace.
